Dual-Source Energy Metering - Why One Meter for Grid and DG Changes Everything

Every housing society running a diesel generator faces the same problem: how do you accurately bill residents for DG consumption separately from grid? The answer in most societies: you estimate, argue, and dispute. Dual-source metering - invented in India by PES Electricals - solves this at the hardware level.

How Dual-Source Metering Works

A dual-source meter has two physically separate input terminals: one wired to the grid, one to the DG. Grid consumption registers on one accumulator at the grid tariff; DG consumption on a separate accumulator at the DG tariff. The switchover is automatic - no estimation, no human error.

Why This Eliminates Disputes

When a resident disputes their DG bill, you print the meter report showing exactly how many units they consumed from the DG channel. The data is irrefutable. The conversation ends.

PES and the First Dual-Source Meter in India

PES Electricals developed India's first dual-source energy meter - measuring grid and DG separately on one device. The PES-12 and PES-20 both include dual-source metering as standard. For a demonstration, contact Sales.
