From IAF Avionics to Faridabad Factory: The 25-Year Journey of PES Electricals

6 min read5 April 2026

In 1998, C.P. Yadav retired from the Indian Air Force after 17 years as an avionics technician. He started PES Electricals in Faridabad with a manufacturing workshop, a background in precision electronics, and a conviction: the Indian electrical industry needed manufacturers who treated quality as a non-negotiable.

The First Decade: 1998-2008

PES's early work was in electrical panels, control systems, and specialty equipment. The company built a reputation in industrial and defence sectors for delivering exactly what it promised. PES indigenised 400Hz specialty equipment - AD30, AD10, CIN81, RN75 - for the Indian Air Force.

The 2008 Breakthroughs

In 2008, PES made two innovations. First: India's first online connectivity for energy meters - connecting meters to the internet for remote reading and management. Second: India's first dual-source energy meter - measuring grid and DG separately on one device. Both came from a founder who understood electronics at the component level.

Scale: 2012 to Today

PES now serves 1,22,700+ active homes, manages ?2,092 crore in billing, and covers 100+ high-rise residential societies. Two manufacturing plants in Faridabad produce the PES-12 and PES-20 ranges. The IoT platform and consumer app were built in-house. The precision culture C.P. Yadav brought from the IAF has not changed in 25 years.
